Product Description

Our crumbles contain all essential nutrients in a balanced formula and are totally edible. Your birds get excellent nutrition while you save money. They also have a "use by" date so the quality is guaranteed.

Changing to Crumbles
Parrots, budgies, canaries and finches need to modify their feeding technique to eat crumbles. Initially they will disintegrate the food attempting to dehusk it, but they soon learn to consume the pellet and will even eat any powder produced during feeding. Begin change over early in the morning on a mild day. Observe birds regularly during the day to ensure that they are eating the crumbles. Avoid changing over on very cold days.

Direct change to crumbles: Usually applies to quail, pigeons, doves or parrots larger than cockatiels. Remove all seed and provide only crumbles. If the birds do not eat during the day then replace the seed and try introducing crumbles.

Introducing crumbles: Applies to canaries, finches and parrots smaller than cockatiels. Start with a 50:50 mix of either crumbles/seed then slowly increase the proportion of crumbles. Remove all seed once the birds begin to nibble the crumbles.

Amount eaten: Depends on temperature, size of the bird and cage size.
Values are expressed in grams of crumbles per bird per day
